Description

The 2008 Quintuple £5 Gold Sovereign featuring the esteemed George & Dragon design is a notable collector’s item, distinguished by its exceptional quality and historical significance. Graded PF69 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), it is recognised for being in near-perfect condition, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of the Royal Mint.

Design and Heritage:
Central to the coin’s allure is the iconic depiction of St. George battling the dragon, an emblematic design crafted by Benedetto Pistrucci in 1817. This image is not only steeped in legend and lore but also symbolizes courage, valor, and victory over adversity. The design has been a cornerstone of the sovereign series, celebrated for its artistry and the way it encapsulates a piece of England’s rich heritage.

Specifications:
– Issue Year: 2008
– Face Value: £5, also known as the Quintuple Sovereign, representing a significant value both in terms of collectibility and precious metal content.
– Metal: Solid 22 Carat Gold, ensuring the coin is both a valuable numismatic piece and a solid investment in gold.
– Grade: NGC PF69 Ultra Cameo, indicating the coin is just one step away from perfection, with superb proof quality, sharp details, and a strong cameo contrast between the frosted devices and mirrored fields.
– Obverse Feature: The obverse presents a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. This depiction is part of the fourth definitive portrait series of the Queen, showcasing her mature likeness with remarkable detail.
– Diameter and Weight: Adhering to the quintuple sovereign specifications, it offers a considerable heft and size that enhances its presence as a piece of tangible history and art.

Collectibility and Investment Insights:
The 2008 Quintuple £5 Gold Sovereign is highly sought after by collectors and investors for several reasons. Its high grade of PF69 by NGC makes it a prized possession, indicating that it possesses almost no imperfections and retains its original mint luster. The coin’s historical design, significant gold content, and the prestige of its limited issuance contribute to its desirability and potential for appreciation over time.

Presentation and Preservation:
Coins of this caliber are often presented in protective slabs provided by NGC, safeguarding their condition and ensuring their longevity as collectibles. This professional grading and encapsulation not only protect the coin but also authenticate its condition and grade, adding to its credibility and collectible value.

In summary, the 2008 Quintuple £5 Gold Sovereign George & Dragon NGC PF69 is a magnificent piece that embodies the grandeur of British numismatics, offering a blend of historical significance, artistic beauty, and investment appeal.

Great honest advice

Great honest advice. I have used Bullion House over the past year and have found them to be professional and polite.

Small purchase arrived super quick

I ordered something small through the website as I was hesitant to make a big purchase as I haven’t used this company before, but the price was good for what I wanted so I thought I would try it out. The order arrived safely. They took the time to answer any questions I had, which I appreciated. I would definitely purchase from them again.

Bullion House are just super to deal with.

I just wanted to say that the guys at Bullion House are easy to deal with, informed, and very helpful. So, I am very, very pleased. Their service delivery blew me away. I recently ordered some Sovereigns which I expected to take a few days to arrive but the very next morning they turned up, not bad for pm order.

I will of course continue to rely on them for my bullion investments.

First purchase from this dealer
